Dothan Man Wins $1 Million Dollar Lottery Prize

The Florida Lottery announces that Gary Cochran, 54, of Dothan, AL, claimed a $1 million top prize in the 50X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. Cochran chose to receive the winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $800,000. He purchased his winning Scratch-Off ticket at Panhandle Package, located at 5839 U.S. Highway 231 in Campbellton.

The $10 game, 50X THE CASH, offers a top prize of $1 million, and four top prizes remain. The overall odds of winning are one in 3.46.

The Florida Lottery offers approximately 60 Scratch-Off games at any given time through vending machines or counter displays at more than 13,000 retailers statewide. Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery's portfolio of games, making up approximately 58 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $495 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2011-12.
