ROTARY PRESENTS FUNDS TO AREA NON-PROFITS

The Dothan-Houston County Rotary Club is pleased to announce that it has donated $500.00 and thirty-two pounds of non-perishable food items, which is equivalent to 21 meals, to the Wiregrass Area Food Bank.  Shirley Henderson, Assistance Director of the Wiregrass Area Food Bank, accepted the donations on October 16th during the Club's weekly meeting at the Dothan Country Club.

Rotary Club President, Steve Thompson, said, "Our Club is always striving to find ways to continually give back to the community.  With the dangerously short food supply at the Food Bank, our Club wanted to raise money and provide donations to assist as quickly as possible and we encourage other area service organizations to do what they can for this very worthwhile and necessary organization."

Wiregrass Area Food Bank Executive Director, David Hanks, said, "Our organization is very thankful to the Rotary Club for the much needed donations.  Due to lower donation levels and much greater need in our community, we have seen food levels depleted to very low levels.  We are in urgent need and would be very appreciative of citizens and other organizations stepping in to assist with donations of money or food."

For more information on how to assist the Wiregrass Area Food Bank, please go to www.wiregrassfoodbank.com or call 334-794-9775.
