It began with two people believed to be victims of a kidnapping, but they were also said to be suspects in several recent break-ins. Police said the recent arrests all stem from a theft ring, which according to police turned on one another, which led to them all being turned-in.
Officers said they arrested 20-year-old, Cordelius Sol and 34-year-old, Jerrold Mcleod of Ozark both were charged with kidnapping, robbery, assault and burglary. Both are said to be a part of the theft ring that is responsible for several recent automobile and home break-ins in the Dothan area.
Police said they got into an argument over stolen property and kidnapped two of the people originally in their ring.
"We were able to determine that the two victims in our case were linked to these cars and houses being broken into, so we kind of worked backwards from there and were able to figure out which houses and vehicles--able to determine which ones they did," explained Corporal Robert Cole.
It all led police to make six other arrests; including three juveniles and 18-year-old Kendrick Corbitt, 23-year-old, Joshua Guy and 18-year-old, Justin Lomaneck.
All eight arrests resulted in 29 counts of breaking and entering a vehicle, 10 counts of burglary and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.
