Infant Deaths Down in Alabama

Monday is National Pregnancy Loss and Infant Remembrance Day.
It's a chance for families across the country to remember babies they've lost due to miscarriage, still birth, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS.
This day of remembrance comes at a time when Alabama's infant mortality rate is at the lowest rate it's ever been.
According to the state department of public health, only about 8.1% of every one thousand babies born in the state passed away last year.
That number is down from 8.7% passing away in 2010.
Doctors attribute this decline to increased access to health care and prenatal health education.
