Panhandle Converter is a unique company that recycles catalytic converters. They are one of the only places around the country that operates a business like this and they are located right here in Dothan; and on Wednesday they expanded that business.

They now have a larger facility and a state of the art machine that allows employees to get the most detailed information about the type of metals they are working with from the recycled converters; which in turn means selling those metals for a larger profit.

The larger profit isn't the only promising factor of this new machine; more jobs are already available and company supervisors said even more will soon be on the way.

"There will be more jobs all over the spectrum. It's a large facility, we use facility maintenance personnel, electricians and welders. There's a wide range of opportunity, some in the short term and much more to come in the long term as much more gets developed and is installed," explained Lyle Peluso Jr. supervisor at Panhandle Converter.
