Glenda Gail Hodges Morris

Glenda Gail Hodges Morris, 73, of Dothan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, October 8, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, October 11, 2012 at First United Methodist Church Dothan with Dr. Jim Sanders and Rev. Allie Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 7-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to "In Christ's Name Fund" or the "Building Fund" c/o First United Methodist Church, 1380 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL, 36301.

Glenda was born November 19, 1938, in Henry County, AL to Ollie B. and Glenwood Hodges. On March 17, 1957, she married Jack Morris and was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Glenda spent most of her working life serving the students of the Dothan City Schools with the last twenty years dedicated to Girard Middle School. She was also a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Dothan and dearly loved all of the ministries there especially her Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and traveling abroad with the Fifty Forward Ministries.

Glenda's pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Jack, of 55 years, and their four children: Jack Morris, Jr. (Jan), Marilyn Howard (Thomas), Mary Beth Lloyd (Steven), and Ross Morris (Melissa). Survivors also include three siblings: Judy Armstrong, Will Hodges, and Wanda Bird; nine grandchildren that she loved and adored: Scott, Leslie, and Abbie Morris; Morris and Pate Howard; Shelby and Emily Lloyd; and Bailey and Garrett Morris; and seven nieces, five nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
