Not so Spooky Numbers for Local Economy this Halloween

The scariest holiday of the year is just around the corner.

Halloween is just a few weeks away and the most haunting thing these days may be the lagging economy.

That may not be the case in Dothan, as folks are making local cash registers ring.

"We live for it. After it's over it's like the day after Christmas. We are always saying, man, now we have to wait another year," said Donna Shannahan, the owner of Out on a Whim.

In fact, families nationwide are expected to spend over $8 million in costumes, makeup, and candy over the next few weeks leading up to the holiday.
