It's hard to believe the holiday season is almost here, but several Dothan retailers are already hanging out the help wanted sign and they are not alone retail stores all across the country are hiring thousands of people to help get them through Christmas.

Myra McCraney, the human resources manager at K-Mart in Dothan said she's spent a lot of time lately hiring new employees.

"Every week I've been bringing in people. Today I brought in six people and next week I'll bring in some more," explaine McCraney

K-Mart isn't the only place bringing in new faces; Toys-R-Us, Target and UPS have already started their seasonal hiring bringing in hundreds of people to help get them through Christmas and perhaps beyond.

"As a seasonal associate they can work anywhere from 20-40 hours a week. As we get further into it and our extended hours are here their hours will increase of course and that's where we also pick our best associates and a lot of times they do have permanent employment with us after Christmas," said McCraney.
