John Allen Cole

John Allen (Friend) Cole, a resident of Headland, died Wednesday evening, October 3, 2012, in the emergency room of a Dothan hospital. He was 46.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 6, 2021, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Joe Sollars officiating. Burial will follow in Bethsadia Cemetery in Barbour County, near Clayton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
John Allen Cole was a native of Union Springs but was reared in Abbeville and Eufaula and moved to Headland in 2008. John Allen Cole was formerly employed as a tree trimmer and climber. In 1988, he was injured in a diving accident in a creek near Selma, Alabama and had been disabled ever since. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving relatives include his mother, Linda Faye Cole, Headland; his father, Terry Youngblood and wife, June; Tallaposa, GA; a sister, Michelle Norris, Abbeville; a brother, Wyman Earl Yates, Headland; nieces and nephews, Ashley Brown, Bubba Brown, Gina Brown, Lacy Yates and Jenna Calhoun; great nieces, Shaleigh Kirkland and Joslynn Graham.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Chris Adkinson, Nick Martin, James Williams, Ashley Butler, Bubba Brown, Ricky Cook, Kenny Paul and Marvin Brown.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Ricky Cook for his lifelong friendship and support given to John during his illness.
