Search Warrant in Mossy Head Area Leads to Methamphetamine and Child Abuse Charges

Investigators with the Walton County Sheriff's Office served a probable cause search warrant on October 2, 2012 at 518 Windflower Street, in the Mossy Head area of Walton County. 

During the search of the residence and property, numerous items were located that are used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines.  Further investigation revealed that a small child was living in the home and was present during the manufacturing process.
 
Edith Mary Roughton, 42, of DeFuniak Springs, FL was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamines over 14 grams, Production of Methamphetamines, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance without a Prescription and Child Abuse.  Roughton was transported and booked into the Walton County Department of Corrections.
