Wallace
Community College will hold commencement ceremonies for 35 graduates of
the Adult Education GED program Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 2:00
p.m., in Cherry Hall at the Wallace Campus in Dothan. Ms. Belinda
Mitchell, Center Director for the Alfred Saliba Family Services Center,
will deliver the keynote address.
According
to Wallace President Linda C. Young, GED graduates will be prepared to
pursue higher education or to move into the local workforce with greater
earning power
than those without a high school diploma. Of the 35 GED graduates, 31%
have already enrolled at Wallace Community College and 49% are planning
to enroll.
Wallace
Community College offers free GED preparation classes through its adult
education program at twelve locations in Houston, Henry, and Barbour
