Police in Birmingham arrested two more suspects Tuesday evening in connection with a crash that left three people dead.

Two men were being chased by police after allegedly robbing an elderly couple on Monday night. The suspects ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, killing Nicole Verus, 23, Ryan Max Culwell, 20, and their 10-month-old daughter Rogue Marie Culwell, all of Hanceville. All three were pronounced dead on the scene.  A Jefferson County deputy called to join the chase was taken to the hospital after the deputy's vehicle flipped into a ditch.

Police say two robbery suspects fled the scene on foot, running into the woods. One of the men, 20-year-old Dominique Rashad Smith, surrendered to police on Tuesday afternoon. Later in the evening, LaJuan Dontell McNeal and Jeffrey Howe were arrested at a home in Ensley. McNeal is accused of helping Howe evade police.
