Thuril Woodrow Davis

Thuril Woodrow Davis, 79 of Dothan went to be the Lord on September 30, 2012,, with family members by his side.

Services will be held at 3 P.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted. Reverend David Grantham and Reverend Judy Dyson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia.

Following graveside services, the family will receive friends at the home of Howard and Pennie Harrison at 1562 J. Saunders Rd. Dothan, AL 36305.

Mr. Davis was born on November 26, 1932, in Henry County. He lived most of his life in Houston County. He attended Malvern New Life Church.

Mr. Davis was best known as the owner of Davis and Son Produce. He owned and operated multiple businesses in Dothan for many years. In addition, he was a Forman for the Houston County Road and Bridge Dept. before his retirement.

Mr. Davis enjoyed traveling to auctions and markets. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his wife, the late Susie (Miller) Davis, son, Allen Thuril Davis, mother, Ethel (Powell) Davis, father, John Marrell Davis, and brothers, Jay and Tom Davis.

Survivors include Papa's little angel, Kristyn Elizabeth Davis, sons, Bobby Davis (Debbie) of Lynn Haven, FL; Jared Davis (Brandi) of Montana; Domonic and Darius Davis of Dothan; daughters, Jennie Davis Hawthorne of Dothan; Pennie Harrison (Howard) of Malvern; Wendy Grantham (David) of Wicksburg; Cindy Riley (Greg) of Hartford; Rosa Fairchild of Dothan; grandchildren, Jay Marchman, Dolly Singletary, Patricia Mathis, Hillary Marchman, Ben Marchman, Jessica Davis, Jennifer Marshall, Chris Marshall, Levie Hawthorne, Susie Thornton, April Wood, Breanna Harrison, Alana Harrison, Dustin Grantham, Daniel Grantham, Allen Riley, Daniel Burford, Lily Burford, Charley Burford, Devin Fairchild, and Malachi Davis, twenty-three great-grandchildren, five brothers, two sisters, and many loved ones.

Serving as active pallbearers will be members of the family.

The family would like to express their appreciation to caregiver Clarence for the care and kindness he has shown Mr. Davis during his illness. Also a special thanks to Dr. O'Brian and the staff on the 4th floor at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
