Updated: September 27, 2012
Thursday, October 4, 2012  *   7:00 P.M. at the Cultural Arts Center hosted by DCAC will be the book signing and informational talk on Sharman Ramsey's latest book, "Swimming With Serpents". Please call ahead to reserve your seat and a book should you wish to have one available that evening for signing. OR bring a book that you have ordered through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Mercer University Press, or an Independent Book Store.

"Swimming with Serpents" is an action packed story based on the experiences of real people and will be enjoyed by those who appreciate history, particulary history of our area, and want to delve deeper into the causes and consequences of war. The Reading Guide for book and study clubs is available at http://www.shamranbursonramsey.com as is the genealogy of the historical figures in the novel.

"Swimming with Serpents" is a lush plunge into a forgotten corner of American History; the brutal Indian wars at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Star crossed lovers share the page with the larger than life figures of history, creating a vivid, detailed story that reflects the passion and the brutality of the day and gives insight to the nation we have become.

This is the first in the planned Serpents series of novels and it's sequel, "Nest of Vipers" set against the backdrop of the First Seminole War, follows survivors of the Creek War characters introduced in "Swimming with Serpents," and will be released by Mercer University Press in 2013.

Wine cash bar and light finger foods will be available before the Power Point presentation and reading. A $2.00 donation will be asked to go towards the arts programs provided to the underserved children in the neighborhood at the Cultural Arts Center.
