A "birds-eye view" of Fort Rucker is nothing out of the ordinary for flight students at Allen Stagefield, a training facility for Army pilots, but for Governor Bentley this view was a brand new look at the Wiregrass.

Several pilots in training gave him his first flight tour and having served in the military himself he said, he is impressed with the precision behind Fort Rucker.

Governor Bentley enjoyed the flight tour, but he also came to talk about jobs coming to Alabama. He said Fort Rucker was the perfect location because it is one of the best economy boosters our state has to offer.

"It's one of the 4th or 5th largest employers in the state of Alabama and not only do we have a lot of military personnel here, but we also have contractors that are here all the time." -explained Bentley

Governor Bentley also said that despite defense cuts, he's confident in the specialized training that takes place at Fort Rucker.

The stability of Fort Rucker might not be the only good news coming to the Wiregrass, Governor Bentley hints more plans are in the works.

"There are some other things that we are working on that I just can't comment on right now." -said Bentley

After months of talk about PEMPCO, many in the Wiregrass are hoping Governor Bentley was hinting at new developments about replacements for this company.
