Madeline Morris, 88, known to the world as " Nanny", passed away on September 21, 2012 after a sudden illness. Nanny was born May 13, 1924 in Slocomb, AL. She was a dedicatedemployee of 30 years with GTE as a telephone operator. One of her proudest moments was being the first telephone operator inducted into the GTE hall of fame.

She is survived by her loving and caring son, Albert Floyd of Dothan, Grandson Chuck Floyd of San Francisco, CA and great grandson Ryland Thomas Barrentine of Dothan. She is also survived by two dear friends whom she considered sisters; Jean Perkins and Lois Christensen, both of Dothan.

The family would like to thank John and Melissa Songer, Mike Bedsole and Donny Goff for all their support over the last year.

Graveside services will be held at 11 A. M. Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Memory Hill Cemetery, on Hartford Highway.

In lieu of flowers, nanny has requested donations be made in her name to the Dothan High School Band or the Wiregrass Humane Society, as she was an avid pet lover.
