Esther Scarnegie

Mrs. Esther Scarnegie of Coffee Springs, Alabama passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was 88.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 22, 2012 in the Sorrells Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Donald Lolley officiating.Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 until 11 am.Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Linda Andress, P.O. Box 310900, Enterprise, Al 36331.

Mrs. Scarnegie was born July 9, 1924 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Thomas Henry and Anne Johnson Herrington.She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Michael Scarnegie.

Survivors include her step-daughter, Toni Scarnegie, Wixom, MI; 2 sisters: Mazie Hartford and Shirley O'Conner, both of Coffee Springs; 3 brothers: Frank Herrington, Harry Herrington and Alfred Herrington, all of Coffee Springs; 1 grandson, Patrick Vadnais; 2 great grandchildren, Robert and Kenneth Vadnais; a dear friend, Peggy Harrison, Elba, AL; several nieces and nephews.
