South Carolina Head Coach Steve Spurrier said on Tuesday that Connor Shaw will start at quarterback for the Gamecocks on Saturday when they go head to head with the Missouri Tigers.

Shaw was first injured when the Gamecocks took on the Commodores in week 1. The injury to his throwing shoulder caused him to miss South Carolina's second game against East Carolina. After starting against UAB in week 3, Shaw once again hurt his throwing shoulder after taking a big hit before the end of the first half.

Spurrier says Shaw is good to start and will provide their offense with the running element that Shaw has provided them with the past 2 seasons. Without the running ability from Shaw, the Gamecock's offense is not quite as effective. Despite Shaw's shoulder, Spurrier says the gamplan for Missouri on Saturday will remain the same.
