Willard Rudolph (Rudy) Money

Willard Rudolph (Rudy) Money, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday morning, September 14, 2012, at his home. He was 83.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, September 16, 2012, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Thomas D. Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.

Mr. Money was born and reared in Henry County, son of the late James Cephas Money, Jr. and Queen Esther Blalock Money. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Money lived in Chicago, Illinois before returning to Abbeville in 1965. He and his late wife formerly owned and operated Money's Bait & Tackle. Mr. Money had also been employed as a truck driver for Money Brothers Logging Co.

Mr. Money was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae Biggs Money, two sisters, Mildred Money and Eunice Money, two brothers, Rupert Money and Hubert Money, a granddaughter, Michelle Money, a daughter-in-law, Louise Money and a special friend, Margaret Barker.

Surviving relatives include seven daughters, Sandy James (Johnny), Abbeville; Sharon McKay (Roy Lee), Foley, AL; Debi Sitzler, Abbeville; Pam Sanders (Horace) Lake Seminole; Cheryl Money (Carl), Abbeville; Linda Money Dramble, Abbeville; and Jodie Money, Birminghan; two sons, Jay Money (Cecelia), Abbeville; and Jimmy Money, Foley, AL; three sisters, Florence Armstrong and Myrtle Moring (Billy), all of Abbeville; and Barbara Chrouser (Dan); a brother, James (Sugarboy) Money, (Elma Ruth), Columbus, GA; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
