Fighting to Cure Childhood Cancer: Brendan Franco's Story

An Enterprise boy fighting for his life is hoping to save the lives of others.
13-year-old Brendan Franco is making it his mission to help other children suffering from cancer, but he needs the community's help to do it.
"The empathy he has for other children is incredible," said Armand Franco, Brendan's Dad. "That just led naturally to his wanting to help kids, and it took on a life of its own."
Brendan was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer when he was 12 years old, and given just weeks to live.
A year later, doctors have told Brendan and his family that they can no longer safely treat him with chemotherapy.
Now, Brendan is spending his final days raising money for a new pediatric cancer therapy.
The therapy is the first of its kind, and only offered at two places in the country, with one of them being Children's Hospital of Alabama.
Brendan's goal is $150,000,
and with generous donations from the community, he's raised over $6,000.
There are two fundraisers
coming up to support Brendan's cause.
One will be at Bama Jam Farms on September 22, the other is October 27th at children's park in Enterprise.
