Deer season is just around the corner, and thanks to Fort Rucker's newest equipment, even wounded warriors will have the chance to enjoy the great outdoors.

The equipment doesn't come cheap, and the post needs help to pay for it.

Fort Rucker has held a wounded warrior deer hunt for the last two years, with all of the proceeds going to its recreation center.

Those funds help the recreation center purchase handicap accessible hunting gear.

But as the need has grown, so has the price.

Each piece of equipment runs over ten thousand dollars, and allows handicapped members of our military to go back to doing what they love: enjoying the outdoors.

The wounded warrior hunt will be October 20 through the 27th.

It costs $25 dollars to participate, unless you are a wounded warrior. They are allowed to hunt for free.
