A man has been arrested on charges he raped a girl under the age of twelve during a family reunion held in July.

Frederick Haynes, Jr.,  23, of Gadsden County, Florida was arrested over the weekend then returned to Dothan where the alleged crimes occurred.  Specifically, Haynes is charged with one count each of Rape First Degree and Sexual Abuse of a child under the age of twelve.

"We had been looking for him several weeks," said Dothan Police Department Major Steve Parrish.  Haynes is believed to be an acquaintance of a person attending the reunion which took place on or about July 6.

The investigation was aided by representatives of the Child Advocacy Center and Department of Human Resources.

Haynes appeared before District Judge Benjamin Lewis Monday morning.  During the hearing, Dustin Byrd was appointed defense attorney.

Haynes is being held under a $90,000 bond.
