A year after teenager Shanna Peoples vanished near her home in Geneva her disappearance still has investigators stumped and her parents distraught.

"It's been a year and I feel like we know no more than we knew day one," said Elvis McKee, Shanna's father. "You just don't disappear off the face of the earth. Someone knows something. Someone come forward please," he pleaded during an interview Friday.

It's not that there have been no leads---it's just that no leads have panned out.  Investigators have--several times---launched searches for Shanna but came up empty.  In July, they found jewelry belonging to the 19-year old.  However, that evidence led to another dead end.

Shanna's family has not given up.  "You hope you'll hear from her or the police will pull up and she'll be in the car with them," said McKee.

A candlelight vigil is planned Saturday night for the missing teen.  It begins at 6:30 and will be held at First Methodist Church in Geneva.

If you have any information regarding the case call the Geneva Police Department at (334) 684-2777.
