Ottis Phillips Henderson

Ottis Phillips Henderson, a resident of Cowarts, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 82.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henderson will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Shady Grove Congregational Holiness Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Henderson was born July 6, 1930 in Houston County to Dan and Sally Suggs Phillips. She and her husband, Willie Paul Henderson, pastored Midland City Community Church for many years and she was currently a member of First Assembly in Ashford.

Mrs. Henderson is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Dorothy Denton and two brothers, Will and Pete Phillips.

Survivors include four daughters, Judy Palermo (Frank), Bradenton, FL, Donna Goodwin (Danny), Austin, TX, Priscilla Lowe (James), Cowarts, Becky James (Johnny), Slocomb; three sons, Larry Henderson, (Cathy), Dothan, Tommy Henderson (Krystal), Rehobeth, Donald Henderson, Dothan; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; sister, Sally Mae Henderson, Pansey and a brother, Bob Phillips (Mary), Gordon.
