Evelyn Marcellus Womack, a resident of Mary & Martha's Personal Care in Rossville, GA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 31, 2012. She was 92.
A celebration of life service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 3, 2012 at Rocky Creek United Methodist Church on Creek Church Road, Ashford, Alabama with Rev. Jackie Womack officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time on Monday at the church.
The family request no food or flowers. Donations may be made to the Rocky Creek Church Cemetery Fund.
Mrs. Womack was born in Ashford, Alabama. She was a faithful member of Rocky Creek United Methodist Church. She devoted her life and her love to her family, her church and her friends. She loved God's word and gospel music and spent many hours praying for family and friends. Her beautiful smile and laugh would always brighten your day.
Mrs. Womack was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Daughtry Womack; her parents, Charlie C. and Thelma Hall; her sister, Dorothy Jean Taylor;brothers, Brannon Hall, Horace D. (Buddy) Hall, Robert N. (Bobby) Hall, and grandson, Anthony Scott Womack.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Gerrie Womack of Greer, SC, Jackie and Connie Womack of Rossville, GA and David Allen and Pat Womack of Dothan, AL; her daughters, Eloise Womack Mastin of Plantersville, MS and Judy Womack Collins of Dothan, AL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Womack, Kent Womack, Doug Womack, Billy Taylor, Steve Hall, and Lindsay Parnell.
