Bob Whittington

CW4 (Ret) Bob Whittington of Enterprise, AL passed away, Wednesday August 29, 2012 in Flowers Hospital. He was 67.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
Bob served in the Infantry from 1962-1967. During that time, he became an Army Parachutist and earned the Combat Infantry Badge. He became a pilot in 1967 and qualified to fly every aircraft in the Army (both helicopter and fixed wing) and was an instructor pilot for multiple aircraft. As a pilot, he served in multiple combat and non-combat tours including Vietnam, Turkey, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Bob retired as a CW4 in 1993 as a command pilot.
Survivors include his wife, Janice (JW) Whittington, Enterprise, AL; two daughters and son-in-law, MeChel and Chris Acord , Daleville, AL; Susan Bowen, Molokai, HI; step-son and wife, Rob and Dawn Anderson, Conyers, GA; five grandchildren, Ashlee, Trish, Deidra, Trinity and Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Connor.
