Ashford Academy Takes Season Opener on Last Second Field Goal

It's not how you start but how you finish. That's the mindset Blake Hutto took into the final play of Friday's Ashford Academy-Southwest Georgia Academy game.

With four seconds left, and the Falcons down by one, Hutto came up big and made the kick of his life.

His 37-yard field goal went straight through the uprights as Ashford Academy won 27-25.

Head coach Mack Williams, now 1-0, snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Warriors, going all the way back to 1975. The win was anything but routine.

The Warriors fought their way back from an 11-point deficit, as they took a 25-24 lead into the final quarter. However, it was the Falcons who took advantage of a late opportunity and worked the ball down the field, to the 17-yard line.
