DOTHAN - Dothan High coach Kelvis White never believed in using freshmen on the varsity football team.

Until he met Kamryn Melton.

"The freshmen coaches came to me and said, 'Coach, you need to see this kid,'" White said. "I was reluctant to put someone that young on the varsity. But we kept Kamryn around, and he scored a touchdown in his first varsity game. He hasn't disappointed me since."
