Marjorie Burdeshaw Masters

Marjorie Burdeshaw Masters, a resident of Pelham, Alabama, formerly of Headland, died Wednesday night, August 15, 2012, in the Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Pelham. She was 90.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 18, 2012, in the Headland Methodist Cemetery with Dr. William Masters Starling officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Headland Methodist Cemetery Fund, c/o Headland United Methodist Church, 103 W. King Street, Headland, AL. 36345.
Mrs. Masters was born and reared in Headland, daughter of the late Dr. Shelby Leonard Burdeshaw and Myra Lucille Vining Burdeshaw. She was a graduate of Headland High School and also Huntingdon College in Montgomery. Mrs. Masters retired as a Special Education teacher from the Henry County Board of Education at the Headland Elementary School. She was a member of the Headland United Methodist Church and participated in the Burdeshaw-Solomon Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. (Tony) Masters and two sisters, Elsie Solomon and Christine Whatley.
Surviving relatives include two sons, David L. Masters and wife, Wanda, Pelham, AL; and Mike C. Masters, Headland; four grandchildren, Lindsey Quinn and husband, Brett, Lee Masters, Calum Masters and Patrick Masters; a great-granddaughter, Ava Quinn.
