A building on Foster Street that was once home of the Old Wadlington Hotel will soon be no more.
A demolition project that was first brought before the Dothan Downtown Redevelopment Authority in 2010 was put on hold after an investment group came in and tried to save the building. This past June the investment group decided that it would not be possible to salvage the structure.
The DDRA picked the project back up and brought it before a vote that was unanimously approved today.
Jansen Tidmore, executive director of the DDRA, said the demolition will take place by the end of the month and then they hope to move forward with a new development on the property.
