Heavy rain pounded the area Tuesday and communities like Geneva are bracing for more flood water. Several roads in the county were flooded causing major headaches. Geneva County received nearly seven inches of rain within a few hours.

The rain came so fast storm drains couldn't keep up. The worst area was on Highway 52 next to the Geneva County Farm Center and Trinity Church

Water also covered the boarding dock at Outdoor Aluminum. Things were so bad the county health department closed for the day.

With more rain is in the forecast county engineer Justin Barfield said they're ready if more there's more flooding.

Barfield said, "There are certain areas that we check and monitor when the river gets above flood stage. We have some low line roads that are close to river and we will monitor them and if those roads start to get covered in water we will barricade it and close the road down."
