U.S. Representative Martha Roby announced today that Todd
Stacy will serve as Communications Director in her Washington office.
Stacy, 28, of Prattville, currently works as Communications Director for Alabama
Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard and has previously served as Press Secretary to former Alabama Governor Bob Riley.
"Since
being elected to Congress, I've tried to surround myself with
smart, team-oriented staff members who help me better serve the people
of Alabama's Second Congressional District," Roby said. "Todd brings
valuable experience, a strong dedication to the people of Alabama, and
sharp instincts that will make him a great addition
to our team."
Stacy expressed gratitude for the opportunity and said he was excited to get
started.
"I'm
honored to go to work for Representative Roby supporting her efforts
to fight for conservative values and to serve the people of her
district," Stacy said. "Though it is difficult to leave Speaker
Hubbard's staff, I'm excited by the opportunity to serve my state in
this new capacity."
Speaker
Hubbard said, "While we hate to lose Todd from our staff in Montgomery,
we wish him well in his new endeavors in Washington, D.C. Congressman
Roby has made Alabama proud by demonstrating strong leadership even as a
first-term representative. I'm sure this addition to her team will only
further distinguish her as an effectual leader
in Congress."
Stacy
joins a team of congressional staff geared toward constituent service
and focused on advocating for the traditional values of the people of
Alabama. As Communications Director, Stacy will oversee a wide range of
communications activities, including daily interaction with local,
state, and national media organizations.
In
addition to her office on Capitol Hill, Roby operates three offices
throughout
the Second District, located in Andalusia, Dothan, and Montgomery. Each
is staffed by a full-time professional Constituent Services
Representative who is available to assist constituents on a range of
issues, including Social Security and Medicare claims, Veterans
Affairs claims, and other federal issues.
Stacy will start in his new post in early September.
