Up To Ten Inches Of Rainfall Causing Problems

Heavy rain is taking its toll, leaving some neighborhoods flooded. Reports are that up to ten inches of rain, perhaps more, has fallen in some places.
The hardest hit area appears to be in Enterprise where a few roads are impassable because rain was falling so hard and long it could not drain. A section of Dixie Drive and Alabama Highway 27 North were shut down until waters recede. Both are expected to reopen shortly as the rain subsides.
There are also reports water is in some houses in the Dixie Drive area.
A viewer near Ozark reports ten inches of rainfall since yesterday and WDHN's Stephen Crews, who lives in Geneva, said he received seven inches between 1 am-8 am Tuesday.
A few trees have fallen, likely due to the weight on falling water. In Houston County, one is blocking Trawick Road.
Most flooding, other than Enterprise, is along secondary roads. People are urged to stay off rural highways if possible. There are no reports of significant flooding in Dothan at this time.
