Willie C. Wood

Mrs. Willie C. Wood of Westville, FL passed away on Sunday, August 05, 2012. She was 83. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Wood was born in Walton County, FL on August 18, 1928 to the late William Charlie Harrison and Maudie Inez Pittman Harrison.She was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Leonard Wood; daughter, Gwen Harvey; and sister, Mavis Barlie.

She is survived by two daughters, Shelia Peyton (Tony) of Westville, and Mary Walsh (Hank) of Beaver Creek, OH; son, Michael Wood of Geneva; seven grandchildren, Jaron Goddin, Nathan Harvey, Thomas Walsh, Rachael Walsh, Lisa Walsh, Kim Schmidt (Daniel), Amiee Walker (Sam); two brothers, Cecil Harrison (Mary) of Port St. Joe, FL, Virgil Harrison of Kissimmee, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
