Army Aviation Center Commanding General Takes Last Flight

Maj. Gen. Anthony G. Crutchfield, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence and Fort Rucker, Ala., takes to the air Friday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. for his last flight as commanding general at USAACE.

Upon completion of the ceremonial flight, Crutchfield will receive the traditional "wet down" from fire hoses provided by the Fort Rucker Fire Department.

Crutchfield has commanded USAACE since August 2010. He will relinquish command to Maj. Gen. Kevin W. Mangum in a ceremony Aug. 10 here. Crutchfield's new position is Chief of Staff, United States Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.
