Troy Sets Fan Day

TROY, Ala. - Troy will open the gates of Veterans Memorial Stadium on Sunday, August 12, for the 2012 edition of Fan Day, which will begin at 1:00 p.m. on the concourse of the press box side of the stadium.
Members of the football, volleyball, soccer and cross country teams will be on hand, along with the Troy cheerleaders, to pose for pictures and sign autographs. Team posters will be provided for fans and coaches will also be available for pictures and autographs.
The fall sports season is just around the corner as the Troy soccer team opens its season at home on Friday, August 17, at 3:00 p.m. against Alabama State.
The volleyball team will take to the court for its first match of the season on August 24, as they compete in the Benson Hospitality Bulldog Invitational, hosted by the University of Georgia. The Trojan volleyball home-opener is set for August 28, when Auburn will visit for a 7:00 p.m. first serve.
Fans can catch both the cross country and football teams for the first time on September 1 when cross country hosts the Troy Trojan Invitational, and football travels to UAB for its season-opener. Troy's football home-opener is slated for September 8, at 6:00 p.m. against Louisiana-Lafayette.
Admission to Fan Day is free, and fans will last until 2:45 p.m.
Fan day wraps a monumental weekend on the Troy campus as the inaugural class of the Troy University Sports Hall of Fame is set to be inducted on Friday night, August 10.
