Northview Quarterback Gained Experience at Manning Camp

Ross Jones, a 14-year old from Dothan was given the opportunity of a lifetime two weeks ago when he attended the 17th annual Manning Passing Academy in Thibodaux, La.

The Northview quarterback spent 10 minutes with future Pro Football Hall of Famer and current Denver Bronco Peyton Manning, learning how to become a better signal caller.

The freshman Cougar spent four days learning offensive fundamentals and technique at one of the most coveted football camps in the country. The Manning family hosts the event each year.

An estimated 1,200 eighth through 12th graders participated in this year's camp. Another 1,000 were turned down.

Also, current college quarterbacks, AJ McCarron, Aaron Murray, Zack Mettenberger, Tyler Wilson and Matt Barkley were counselors at the academy this year.
