Updated: July 23, 2012
Holmes County Sheriff Tim Brown announces the loss of another young adult male that apparently drowned in the Choctawhatchee River this past Sunday at Pittman Boat Landing on State Road 2 in North Holmes County.

Investigators determined that Gregory Todd McCollough (26) traveled from Alabama to the Choctawhatchee River with family members for recreation.  Gregory was swimming just downstream from the boat landing when he apparently started having difficulty swimming and subsequently drowned.

Sheriff Brown encourages people to be cautious this summer while swimming in this area and any water with swift currents and limited visibility. Sheriff Brown added "I appreciate the help of everyone who assisted with boats and other equipment that lead to a quick recovery of the body".
