The NCAA has handed down severe penalties and sanctions against Penn State University for the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

They include:

** A $60 million fine - equivalent to one year's revenue of the football program. The money will be used to start a nationwide support group for child sex abuse victims.

** Penn State football is banned from bowl games and any other postseason play for the next four seasons.

** The number of football athletic football scholarships is reduced from 25 to 15 for four years. Any player who wishes to transfer from Penn State to another school may do so without having to sit out.

** The Penn State football program loses credit for all wins from 1998 season through 2011 season.  That includes head coach Joe Paterno.

** The Penn State athletic program is on NCAA probation for the next 5 years.

Bobby Bowden of Florida State is now the all-time wins leader due to the vacating of wins.
