Lightning strikes are deadly and can come without much warning.

How should you react if someone you are with is struck?

Captain Sean Gipson, an EMT in Dothan, said it takes three simple steps to save a life. "If someone is struck by lightning, make sure the scene is safe. Move them into an enclosed area. Go ahead and dial 911 to get advanced care coming and check for signs of life. Then begin CPR," said Capt. Gipson.

There is a one in 3,000 chance a person will be struck by lightning, but it only takes one strike to cause significant damage.
