Steven Bryant Reeves, Sr.

Steven Bryant Reeves, Sr., of Dothan, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at Flowers Hospital. He was 62.


Memorial services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Evans and Greg Williams officiating and Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time on Thursday.


Steve was born October 4, 1949 in Miami, FL. He served in the US Marine Corps for four years as a corporal and did one tour in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. Steve worked as an artist for many years in advertising before he went on to do his own work as an airbrush artist. He was always willing to help someone out whenever he was called upon.


Steve loved many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing and scuba diving, working on cars, and going to the movie theatre. He was a very good musician who played guitar and wrote many wonderful songs. Most important to Steve was his love for the Lord and the scriptures. He was a devout Christian and an avid reader of the bible. He loved to talk about the Lord and the scriptures and he loved attending church.


Survivors include his son, Steven Reeves, Jr. of Omaha, NE; his mother, Mary Ann Reeves of Sebring, FL; his brother, Gary Perky (Reeves) of St. Augustine, FL; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nephews; and many dear friends in the Dothan area.
