Highland Home's Flying Squadron Named Most Unusual Mascot in Alabama

With nearly 1,000 votes, the Highland Home Flying Squadron came in first place, receiving 29 percent of the total votes. 

The Sidney Lanier Poets, who were in first place early on, finished second with 754 votes or about 23 percent. The Frisco City Whippets, whose school closed in 2008, rounded out the top three with 592 votes, or about 18 percent.
