Former Georgia Running Back Headed to Alabama State

By: Josh Rultenberg
Updated: July 4, 2012
Former Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell is transferring to Alabama State, according to multiple reports.

The news was confirmed by UGAsports.com. The report also says Crowell enrolled in school this afternoon.

One reason last season's SEC Freshman of the Year may have chosen the Hornets is because the university is in the Football Championship Subdivision, and therefore, would not have to sit out a year.

Crowell was dismissed by Georgia head coach Mark Richt last Friday after being arrested that morning and brought up on felony gun charges.

In 2011, the former Bulldog rushed for 850 yards as Georgia won the SEC East Division.
