Popular Broadcaster Ken "K.C." Carlile Dies

Veteran broadcaster Ken Carlile
died today following a lengthy illness.
Known as K.C., Carlisle was the long term co-host of a popular morning
show on two radio stations in Dothan---WTVY-FM and the Kickin' 93.7---now a
talk station. Carlisle worked at several other stations as well, including WESP (102.5).
He is best remembered for his antics with co-host Amie Pollard when the duo hosted a morning show on both stations. Aired first on WTVY-FM, the show received top ratings in the market. However, they departed in 2008 which led to a legal battle over non-compete agreements.
After the legal issues were resolved, Ken and Amie joined Kickin' 93.7 in a stint that lasted a couple of years.
"My heart is torn to pieces," Pollard said on her Facebook page. "KC went to be an angel with the Lord. I will miss your smiles and laughter. Thank you for always being there for me and being the best radio partner and friend anyone could ever have--you will always be in my heart. I love you and will see you again," she said.
Speaking to WDHN's Ken Curtis via telephone, Pollard said she traveled to Columbus, Georgia about once a week to visit Carlile in a nursing home. "Nobody knows how much he meant to me," she said.
Funeral services are incomplete at this time but will be in Columbus---most likely Thursday or Friday.
Carlile was 65 years old.
