Troy Finalizes 2013 Football Schedule

Updated: June 27, 2012
Troy will have six home football games for the second straight season as Alcorn State will visit Veterans Memorial Stadium on Sept. 7, 2013, in a one-game deal, Troy Director of Athletics Steve Dennis announced Tuesday.

Troy will open the season with back-to-back home games for the first time since 2005 as the Trojans open the year against UAB on Aug. 31. Troy's other two non-conference games for the 2013 season are road contests against Mississippi State (Sept. 21) and Ole Miss (Nov. 16).

The Trojans will also host four Sun Belt Conference games in 2013. South Alabama will make its first visit to Veterans Memorial Stadium while the three other conference opponents will be announced at a later date due to the shuffling of league members; Troy will play South Alabama every year as its permanent league opponent.

This will be the sixth all-time meeting between the two schools with Troy holding a 4-1 advantage dating back to when the Trojans were a member of the Football Championship Subdivision. Troy has won three straight over Alcorn State including 65-0 in the last meeting in 2008.

Troy's six home games for the upcoming 2012 season was a first in the Trojans Football Bowl Subdivision era. The Trojans play host to Mississippi State and Navy along with four Sun Belt Conference games this season.

Tickets for the 2012 season can be purchased by contacting the Troy ticket office at 1-877-878-WINS (9467).
