Kathleen Simpkins, 85, of Dothan, Al, widow of Earl Simpkins, died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday,
June 26, 2012 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend
Dr. Jeff Ross and Reverend David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in
Memory Hill Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.
The
family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home prior to the service.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Henry Haynes, Tom Anderson, Leroy Medford, Jim McCoy, Tillman Black and Randy Shaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, AL 36303 or to the Alzheimer's Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Parkway Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.
Born in Houston County, AL, Kathleen was a daughter of the late Willie C. and Mary Pauline Thomas Reynolds. She worked until her retirement as a LPN with Civil service at Keesler Air Force Base and is a member of Logos Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth (Marie) Reynolds, Umatilla, FL; two daughters, Pat (Joe) Evans, Dothan, AL and Carol (Charlie) Mingus, Bonifay, FL; a sister, Sue (Doug) Douglass, Hueytown, AL; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
