AUBURN - Danielle Bell has been hired onto the Auburn women's basketball staff as the Director of Basketball Operations, head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy announced Wednesday.

As the Director of Basketball Operations, Bell will be in charge of team travel, game day preparations, equipment and monitoring players' academic progress.

"Danielle has a great background. She played at Richmond and I knew her from the days of playing with my brother (Boo Williams) in AAU," said Williams-Flournoy. "She is from Virginia Beach, close to my hometown. And I have been able to watch her throughout her career.

"She has come up under great people, playing under Michael Shafer at Richmond and working under Andy Landers at Georgia. I am excited to bring her on with the background and work ethic she has, she will be a great addition to the program."

As a graduate assistant at Georgia, Bell assisted with the day-to-day operations of the women's basketball team, including team travel, practice, recruiting visits and player development. She also charted statistics, assisted with video editing and helped with the Georgia Lady Bulldog basketball camps. Bell was a part of a Lady Bulldog team that combined for a 45-20 record in her two seasons and advanced to two NCAA Tournaments, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011. She was also on the Georgia bench when the Bulldogs won the Auburn Regional at the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

Prior to her time at Georgia, Bell was a four-year letterwinner and two-year starter at Richmond from 2006-10. She helped the Spiders to consecutive 20-win campaigns and WNIT appearances as a junior and a senior.

She finished her Richmond career with 801 points and ranked seventh among the Spiders' leaders in 3-pointers made with 133. Bell was the Atlantic-10's top 3-point shooter in league games as a freshman, connecting on 51.9 percent of he attempts from beyond the arc. As a sophomore, she poured in a career-high 24 points against Massachusetts. She also started in 66 consecutive games as a junior and a senior and was named to the 2008 UT-Chattanooga Doubletree Classic All-Tournament Team.

A native of Virginia Beach, Va., bell earned her degree in business administration from the Robins School of Business at Richmond in 2010. Bell received her master's in adult education from Georgia and is currently working on a master's in sport management. Born April 1, 1988, she is the daughter of Randy and Carol Bell.
