A Birmingham woman faces a domestic violence assault charge for reportedly stabbing her estranged husband with scissors and biting him in the groin area.
Shortly before 10:00a.m. on Saturday, June 2, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence in the 500 block of Utica Place in McDonald's Chapel to investigate a report of burglary and domestic violence.
The 29 year old victim told deputies that his estranged wife, 28 year old Tiffany Ronita McGregory, broke into his mother's house at about 9:30a.m. She went into a bedroom where he was asleep with his girlfriend.
According to a police report, McGregory began hitting the victim and slapping him as he slept. She then picked up a pair of scissors and began stabbing him in the back and arm. The victim wrestled with her to take the scissors away. During the struggle she bit him in the groin area.
The victim's brother was awakened by the commotion, came into the room and ordered the Gregory to leave. When she left, the victim called paramedics and the Sheriff's Office.
Gregory went back to her house in Wylam and also called the Sheriff's Office to file a complaint against her husband.
While deputies were talking with McGregory, she admitted to stabbing her husband. She was arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
McGregory also is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree. She has been released on a $45,000 bond.
As for the victim, he was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
