Wanda Elaine Henderson, 64, of Midland City passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Battles officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. At all other times the family will be at the home of Bart Blackmon, 1257 County Road 63, Midland City, AL.
Wanda was born August 11, 1947 in Houston County and lived the early part of her life in Quincy, Florida. She moved to Ashford in 1968 and was employed with General Telephone Company and the Dothan Eagle for several years. She resided in Taylor from 1980-1995 and moved to Midland City in 2005. Wanda attended the Midland City Senior Citizens Center and was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Lillian Ingram.
Survivors include her husband George Franklin Henderson of Midland City; a son Bart (Cheri Lewis) Blackmon of Midland City; brothers, Roy (Benita) Ingram of Tallahassee, FL, Ronald (Brenda) Ingram of Midland City, Eddie (Joyce) Ingram of Ashford, and Jerry (Starla) Ingram of Avon; brothers-in-law, Lamar Henderson of Eufaula, and William Henderson of Graceville, FL; sisters-in-law, Juanita Thomley of Dothan, and Margie Harden of Madrid; several nieces and nephews also survive.
