Derritt (DD) McBride died Thursday, May 10 at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Gross and Woody and Patty Farrington officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2:30 P.M. Sunday, May 13, 2012. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. McBride was born in Wilcox County, February 11, 1932, and resided in Selma, AL, before moving to Dothan in 1961. He was employed in the meat packing business for more than 44 years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Luther McBride.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Thera (Boots) McBride, daughter, Barbara Cook (Johnny), two sons, Billy Joe and Andrew McBride, seven grandchildren, Matthew, Bo, Katie, Coby, Ethan, Drew, and Forest, and six great-grandchildren.
The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
